Not all cryptocurrencies are created equal.
Entrepreneur and billionaire Mark Cuban told FOX Business that he believes all cryptocurrencies are different, with different facilities; However, he believes that they will change the future together.
He has described bitcoin as a “great alternative to a store of value”, which is better than gold. He praised the second largest cryptocurrency, Ethereum, for the smart contracts it enables, the security it provides and its ability to offer distributed management. DeFi and NFTs are also mentioned.
Cuban believes that in the future a lot of companies will base their businesses on Ethereum.
“A lot of people buy with Dogecoin”
Mark Cuban has also shared that people prefer to use DOGE for payments when buying merchandise at the Dallas Mavericks online store and when paying for game tickets.
He stated that people prefer not to pay with bitcoin, because it is “really a tangible asset.”
However, the Mavericks online store earns “thousands and thousands of dollars” in Dogecoin every month during the off season. Once the season begins, the billionaire expects these massive payments to happen at DOGE every week. It is believed that the reason for this is that the price of Dogecoin is not valued much, so people do not use it as a store of value but “want to hold it forever”.
Cuban buys more DOGE ‘just for fun’
Dallas Mavericks owner has admitted that he has added more Doge coins to his inventory that he keeps just for fun. Earlier this year, the billionaire shared that he owns just under $500 in this parody of Bitcoin.
Now, his DOGE stock is worth about $1,500. He reminded the interviewer that he had never told anyone that Dogecoin is a great investment but rather a good way to learn how cryptocurrency works and how to invest. However, he thinks DOGE is much better than buying a lottery ticket.
In May of this year, it was revealed that his 11-year-old son Jake is also a DOGE carrier, and that they held about 3,300 DOGE among them.
