BTIG has announced that it has recruited Steve Marchini as Managing Director of its electronic trading division.
In an article shared with Finance Magnates, Steve Marchini, a veteran executive with experience in investment management, electronic trading and sales and execution management service, has been selected by BTIG, a global services company financial institutions specializing in institutional trading, investment banking, research and related brokerage services, to be its new managing director of its electronics division.
Marchini brings to this position extensive experience in institutional trading, spanning approximately thirty-five years. He will focus on the effective use of BTIG’s proprietary trading technology to enable his clientele to monitor performance, control expenses and make informed trading decisions.
A look back at Marchini’s professional career
Prior to BTIG’s announcement, Macquarie Group recruited Marchini as a trading consultant in New York where he stayed for just over a year according to his LinkedIn profile.
During the previous year 2020, he spent most of his time as Business Development Manager at BestEx Research.
Earlier in mid-2012, he became the Director of AlphaPro/Analytics (Portware LLC. acquired by FactSet 10/16) and served in the role for the next eight years.
Prior to that, Aritas Securities LLC hired him as a managing director. For three years, he was responsible for sales and trading.
At JPMorgan Chase, he held the position of Managing Director. During his time, he oversaw its US trading group responsible for both industry and program/electronic trading, among other duties.
His first known position was as an analyst at MorganStanley, where he performed his duties for four years.
