Verasity has received notice to patent its Vision Proof System.
Veracity Land Ownership Notice
Verasity, a leading blockchain-powered ad technology company, has received a notice of permission to obtain a second patent for its Proof-of-View (PoV) blockchain system and method from the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Once the protocol and product layer platform for esports and video entertainment pay the issuance fee, the patent will be automatically granted to the company within a few weeks.
The entire patent can be found under US Patent Application No. 17/192045. The patent, which was filed on June 24, 2021, details the PoV’s second validation system. Thanks to the PCT, Verasity is now able to file patents worldwide for one year from the date of patent filing. This means that Verasity’s PoV is now effectively protected globally.
Additionally, the PoV patent has been updated with additional parameters to improve the fraud detection capabilities and user experience it offers. The PoV patent covers all aspects of how NFTs are fraudulently created and manipulated, including methods that are often overlooked or not yet common practice. In addition to Verasity’s first patent (10,956,931 B2), issued on March 23, 2021, the new patent also covers other areas such as medicine, communications and aerospace applications.
Furthermore, it includes a variety of NFT content types as well as NFT technology applications such as digital rights management. Since any existing NFTs can be converted to PoV-enabled NFTs, the concept is infinitely scalable.
Verasity PoV was developed to combat many issues and help brands that are exposed to advertising fraud. Currently, data analysis often occurs at the end of an advertising campaign, after content delivery. This makes it difficult to detect ad fraud. With PoV technology, ad fraud can be detected as it happens.
Using artificial intelligence and 200 touch points, Verasity can determine if a robot or human is viewing an ad in real time. This eliminates the need for post-delivery fraud analysis or requesting refunds from publishers. Additionally, PoV prevents views count and audience metric manipulation as legitimate views are verified and added to a publicly available blockchain containing anonymous data. RJ Mark, founder of Verasity, said of the project’s PoV technology:
“Our patented PoV, a protocol layer technology, provides stability and transparency to video ads and helps combat NFT fraud as well as online ad fraud. With this wildcard notice, we will be able to extend patents globally.”
Verasity aims to dramatically increase user engagement and video monetization on video platforms. Its products include a proprietary ad stack as well as a reward system built into the SDKs for YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, and all other major video platforms.
