Roger Ver arrested in Spain
One of the earliest proponents of BTC, known as “Bitcoin Jesus,” Roger Ver, has been arrested in Spain for evading large tax payments to the US IRS.
Ver was arrested for causing a minimum loss of $48 million to the Internal Revenue Service. In 2017, Ver sold $240 million worth of Bitcoin to his companies and paid no taxes on those BTC sales.
Samson Mow, who has been a major opponent of Ver on the Bitcoin issue, has been heavily criticizing him of late. This happened when Ver released a new book called “Hijacking Bitcoin: The Hidden History of BTC” which he co-authored with Steve Patterson.
Mow is not happy about Ver's arrest

At the time, Mow tweeted that he would prefer that Roger Ver not resume his Bitcoin support and abandon Bitcoin Cash.

Ver is now awaiting extradition to the United States
Roger Ver in a similar situation to John McAfee
Oddly enough, Roger Ver now appears to be in the same situation as the late crypto baron John McAfee. The antivirus pioneer was arrested in Spain in 2020 for massive tax evasion on his crypto profits. He faced extradition to the United States, where he would have spent the rest of his life in prison.
McAfee committed suicide in a Spanish prison in June 2021. Many found the suicide story improbable and it sparked much controversy, especially from McAfee's spouse.
