Edgewater taps FX veteran Chan Chong San to shore up APAC presence
Edgewater Markets has hired forex veteran Chan Chong San as managing director for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
Chan brings over 30 years of industry experience to this new role. He spent five years and one month in his last role with the GFI Group.
In a statement on Wednesday, Edgewater noted that Chan helped CFI Group Singapore double its revenue target for APAC over a three-year period. He will lead its Singapore office and support its continued investment and growth in the APAC region.

Capital.com hires IG Group’s Niamh Byrne to lead UK and Ireland
Capital.com has appointed Niamh Byrne as head of UK and Ireland. Byrne joined the company after spending 14 years at IG Group. Until recently, she was Head of UK B2B2C Sales at London-based IG Group.
On Wednesday, Capital.com announced Byrne’s appointment in a statement shared with finance moguls. The broker said Byrne would help navigate its UK business and provide support for its new deal with forex and CFD broker, OvalX.

Blueberry Markets Appoints Jack Fung as Chief Financial Officer
Australia-based Blueberry Markets has promoted Jack Fung to chief financial officer. He joined the broker last October as Head of Finance.
Blueberry Markets was launched in mid-2016 by Dean Hyde, a former executive at local rival broker Axi. Hyde now serves as Managing Director at Blueberry Markets and worked with Fung for a brief period during his Axi days.

M4Markets appoints former Invaxa CEO Marios Antoniou as COO
M4Markets has strengthened its senior management by integrating Marios Antoniou as its new COO. According to his Linkedin profile, Antoniou is based in Cyprus, where the broker is located.
The appointment was made as M4Markets strengthens its presence in global markets. Initially, the company offered counterparty trading services with its registration in the Seychelles. Last October, it obtained a Cypriot investment company license with the acquisition of Intercertus Capital Limited, which is now legally recognized as Harindale Limited and operates M4Markets Europe.

ATFX UK taps State Street’s Chris James to lead liquidity management
ATFX UK has hired Chris James to lead its UK liquidity management team. James announced his new role via LinkedIn on Monday and brings with him more than two decades of industry experience. He left State Street last month.
Additionally, James’ LinkedIn profile shows that he took up his new role at AFTX UK in January. He got this new role after spending nearly eight years with Currenex since April 2015.
At Currenex, James helped ensure that buy-side and sell-side clients achieved optimal liquidity by managing demands from a regulatory and commercial perspective.

CMC Markets Connect moves Peter Foster from Sydney to Singapore
CMC Markets Connect has announced the relocation of Peter Foster (Institutional Sales APAC) from his office in Sydney to the company’s offices in Singapore.
In 2019 Foster joined the group and brought nearly two decades of experience with him, primarily in the stock markets. He has extensive knowledge of custodial equity, equity lending and structured equity products.
This action will ensure that institutional clients of CMC Markets Connect in the APAC region can still receive the same level of support and benefits from Foster, which includes his knowledge and understanding of physical stocks.
