Peer-to-peer (P2P) cryptocurrency marketplace LocalCryptos announced today that it has added support for Bitcoin Cash (BCH) trading. This is now the fifth cryptocurrency supported by LocalCryptos.
Bitcoin Cash is a fork of BTC, which means it has smart contract capabilities similar to the “Bitcoin script”. Unlike LocalCryptos’ vulgar escrow scripts for Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Dash, LocalCryptos takes advantage of the “OP_CHECKDATASIG” opcode available only on Bitcoin Cash transactions.
As with all escrow accounts on LocalCryptos, it is technically impossible for the platform to spend Bitcoin Cash in an escrow. LocalCryptos will only participate in the event of a payment dispute, and once LocalCryptos has signed up it only has the ability to allow BCH to be redeemed by the buyer or seller.
“It has been almost a year since we added a new cryptocurrency to LocalCryptos, and many of you have requested Bitcoin Cash as the next flavor of our non-custodial formula. The wait is finally over.”
