The WIVA team is supporting Patientory through WeFunder, where it has already raised an ambitious goal of $50,000 on the crowdfunding platform for non-accredited investors.
Patientory partners with Wharton Impact Venture Associates initiative
According to a joint official statement from the two teams, PatientInc., a U.S.-based health data startup, is partnering with students from Wharton Impact Venture Associates (WIVA)’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiative to raise capital.
WIVA students decided to integrate Patientory with WeFunder after deepening their knowledge of the healthcare industry and discovering the enormous challenges associated with fragmented data.
Data from the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors shows that about 40% of U.S. adults have chronic illnesses, meaning they regularly interact with different parts of the U.S. health care system.
This results in their health data being scattered across multiple systems: an estimated 80% of health data is not easily accessible for quality patient care.
Patientory founder Chrissa McFarlane highlights the importance of collaboration and funding for the project and the digital healthcare sphere as a whole:
We are excited to seek support from the WeFunder investor community. Health data is the basis for improving healthcare around the world.
In addition to leveraging blockchain technology for data storage and transfer, Patientory provides consumers with AI-driven recommendations, enabling them to improve their health.
Patient subscriber count exceeds 45,000, with over $4 million in contracts secured
WIVA student Talia Cohen, W’24, identified Patientory’s potential to improve healthcare outcomes and positively impact patients’ lives:
Growing up with two healthcare professional parents, I understood the importance of healthcare data and its impact on patients’ lives. I was impressed by Patientory’s commitment to giving patients control of their medical data and enabling secure data exchange between healthcare stakeholders.
The industry is very excited about Patientory and its impact on the national healthcare system. Patientory has over 45,000 subscribers to its platform and has generated over $4 million in pharmaceutical clinical trial contracts.
Its product line includes Patientory Consumer Wallet and Neith Enterprise Dashboard, an analytics portal for healthcare organizations.
