Axelar, the decentralized interoperability network that connects blockchain ecosystems, applications, and users, today announced a new integration with Pangolin Exchange, a decentralized exchange (DEX) for Avalanche and Ethereum assets. The partnership will enable Pangolin to access assets from major Layer 1 blockchains such as Cosmos Hub, Terra, Bitcoin and more.
“We look forward to partnering with Pangolin to expand and enhance the range of assets and trading options available on the platform. As a democratic platform that has offered remarkably fast settlements, Pangolin is a great place for Axelar to expand its interoperability mission with decentralized exchanges. Avalanche provides a strong network and community, and we are excited to have Pangolin join us.” to the Axelar ecosystem.”
– Sergei Gorbunov, co-founder and CEO of Axelar
The Axelar Pangolin interoperability protocol will enable deep liquidity pools to support new trading pairs such as Cosmos’ native cryptocurrency ATOM and TerraUSD (UST), a stablecoin built on the Terra blockchain.
Additionally, Pangolin users will no longer have to rely on an external bridge – a move that greatly enhances both security and efficiency on the platform. Axelar will allow new assets to be made available on Pangolin faster, without the need to build heavy 3rd party solutions, resulting in improved user experience and higher tolerance against crashes and attacks.
The announcement comes just weeks after Axelar raised $25 million in a Series 1 funding round led by Polychain Capital. The funding raised will be used to scale major network integrations and to expand the Axelar developer team as the company grows. In recent months, Axelar has announced a number of mergers with networks including Polygon and Polkadot, and with wallets such as Keplr.
“Axelar’s decentralized, secure, and globally adopted protocol is designed to connect all blockchain ecosystems that speak different languages without friction. In addition to the impressive technology stack, we were impressed in all our interactions with their scope of vision and the level of professionalism shown during our engagement. It allows us to work with world-class partners Realizing our vision of a multi-stranded world in Pangolin.”
– Justin Trollip, Project Manager at Pangolin Exchange
