The White House, one of the largest darknet (DNM) markets, announced that the market would be retired as DNM officials said the team had reached its goal. After the retirement plan was revealed, White House officials clarified that user registration and orders had been disabled.
The White House plans to close the Darknet Market soon, and user registration and ordering have been disabled
When the DNM Dark Market was taken over by global law enforcement, the White House market became the second largest DNM market below the Russian darknet giant Hydra. The White House also had monero (XMR) only DNM, which means that XMR was the only digital currency accepted by White House sellers.
The White House and DNM Archetyp Market were the only two DNM markets that had a strict XMR-only rule. However, White House market managers announced that DNM would voluntarily close as the team reached its goal. White House (WH) officials further emphasized that users should not expect the DNM to return, so if the WH platform appears on the deep web, it is bogus or imitated and not run by the original WH creators.
“We have reached our goal and now, according to plan, it is time for us to retire,” WH officials explained in an announcement posted on the DNM Dread forum. “User registration and ordering are disabled immediately, and everything else (yes, including withdrawals) is working as usual. We will keep the market online for a limited time until open orders are completed, disputes are handled and coins withdrawn. We don’t know how long it will take That but don’t expect to come back 6 months from now and find the market at the top,” notes the WH team member’s farewell letter. WH retirement letter adds:
All market rules are still in effect, so users should not try to take advantage of the situation and defraud, the feedback system is still working and will be shared with Recon and other marketplaces. Since this week’s featured listings and posters won’t generate any revenue, sellers who paid for them will be refunded via their Marketplace wallet. Sellers can now advertise the markets they operate in in their seller profiles but direct contacts are still not allowed.
11 Darknet Markets Still Accepting Monero
On October 2, the researcher and the official Twitter account of Dark Fail, an anonymous journalist researching the uncensored internet, gave his followers an alert that WH is about to retire. “Alert: The White House market is retiring,” Dark.fail chirp in a. Saturday. “New applications and registrations are down. The site remains online. There is no indication of fraud or compromise at checkout,” the researcher added.
As mentioned above, monero (XMR) users can still access the DNM called Archetyp Market in order to use XMR. Furthermore, there are DNMs that offer a combination of BTC and XMR acceptance. Versus Market, Cannazon, Tor 2 Door, Cypher Market and Revolution both offer BTC and XMR by choice while the officials of Monopoly Market, Dark0de, ASAP Market, World Market, Cartel Marketplace and Liberty Market all force sellers to accept both coins.
