Cybersecurity firm PeckShield warns Uniswap users about a phishing account that falsely claims a bug is putting their tokens at risk
Cybersecurity company PeckShield emitted a warning about a phishing account spreading false information about an alleged Uniswap exploit.
The phishing account, posing as Pocket Universe, claims a bug in the Permit2 contract makes Uniswap user coins unsafe.
The fraudulent account then prompts users to revoke their current approvals on a platform called Revoke Cash.
PeckShield Inc. took to Twitter to alert users to the phishing attempt, urging them to remain vigilant and not fall prey to the scam.
The company pointed out that the tweets contain false statements intended to trick users into clicking on the phishing link and ultimately stealing their tokens.
The real Pocket Universe account, @PocketUniverseZ, offers an extension that protects users from scams.
To avoid falling victim to such phishing attempts, it is crucial that users verify the authenticity of accounts and sources of information before taking any action.
