The team behind the popular Shiba Inu (SHIB) memecoin disclosed the release of a new feature on its layer 2 blockchain solution – Shibarium. Dubbed “Donation Feature,” the option allows users to contribute financially to non-profit validators who are essential to maintaining the security and efficiency of the L2 network.
“In our continued effort to foster a supportive and inclusive ecosystem, we introduced an intuitive donation system allowing users to seamlessly donate money to their favorite nonprofit validators.
Our users can now support the maintenance and growth of these validators, strengthening the overall integrity and resilience of the Shibarium network,” the announcement said.
The latest update coincides with Shibarium’s rapid progress over the past few months. The network, officially launched in August, has reached several milestones and continues to make headlines. Like CryptoPotato recently reportedthe total number of blocks on the L2 scaling solution has exceeded 1.5 million, while the total number of transactions is around 4 million.

Shiba Inu’s recent partnership
In addition to launching the new Shibarium feature, Shiba Inu made a splash by signing a major deal. Last week, the team behind the memecoin shake hands with the famous former professional boxer – Manny Pacquiao. The latter revealed the partnership on X (Twitter) through the Manny Pacquiao Foundation page:
“Thank you, SHIB community, for supporting the Manny Pacquiao Foundation. We are excited about this partnership. God bless you,” he said.
