The JPEX case took a new turn as six individuals linked to the JPEX cryptocurrency exchange were arrested by Hong Kong Police following a total of 1,408 complaints relating to alleged fraudulent activity. JPEX recently halted transactions on its Hong Kong platform due to “unfair treatment by relevant institutions”, placing the blame on third-party market makers. Two of the six arrested individuals are YouTube influencers, Joseph Lam Chok and Chan Wing-yee, who allegedly promoted the exchange to their respective online audiences.
