metaENGINE, a first-of-its-kind blockchain gaming infrastructure platform, today announced the completion of $4 million in seed funding. The seed round was co-led by Lemniscap and Jump Crypto with participation from Polygon Studios, Blockwall, blufolio, Insignius Capital, Future Fund, CoinDCX Ventures, Efficient Frontier, Maelstrom and other venture capital funds and angels of foreground.
The $4 million in fresh capital will help further development of the metaENGINE platform ahead of its next v1 release, which is expected to go live in Q3 2022. More than 25 GameFi projects are expected to join the platform during of its launch, with more details to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
“No other engine combines a publishing platform, MMO network and blockchain tools – such as crypto wallet integration and NFT minting – all within a single platform. demonstrated by leading blockchain VCs and the wider GameFi developer community is an encouraging vote of confidence and bodes well for our upcoming v1 release.
– Alex Shalash, CEO and co-founder of metaENGINE
Ready for v1
metaENGINE builds on two decades of experience developing and deploying the HeroEngine massively multiplayer online (MMO) game engine.
This expertise in operating a real-time, scalable, cloud-based development platform has led to successful licensing agreements with Electronic Arts to develop “Star Wars: The Old Republic”, Zenimax to develop “The Elder Scrolls Online” and several other MMOs. projects.
metaENGINE’s platform provides developers with a full suite of tools to create and publish GameFi MMO projects from scratch, create NFTs and, in the future, migrate games from other sites, and more again.
Using metaENGINE’s unique real-time collaborative environment, multiple developers and content creators can simultaneously develop their games anywhere in the world.
Additionally, the platform will provide gaming guild analysis and management tools, native multi-blockchain compatibility with Ethereum, Polygon, Solana and others. A multi-chain tool suite with SDKs, wallets, NFT marketplace and transactional layer is being built to be ready for launch.
Interoperability
Notably, metaENGINE addresses one of the most critical, yet rarely discussed, challenges with blockchain-based games – asset interoperability.
Games developed on metaENGINE will not only offer multi-channel compatibility, but also multi-game functionality, allowing items to be used in multiple game environments – this is fundamental to creating a true metaverse gaming experience. opened.
Current blockchain gaming tools are still relatively rudimentary…
Incorporating web3 elements such as play-to-win or NFTs requires games to have a substantial amount of external infrastructure that is not available on any single platform.
Other platforms looking to adopt blockchain functionality have generally opted to provide blockchain software development kits (SDKs), such as Forte and Enjin, but this still requires additional integration work.
Among metaENGINE’s multi-chain integrations is Polygon. The Polygon network enables sustainable operations for game developers to mitigate the prohibitive gas fees associated with Ethereum.
“We believe metaENGINE will have a huge impact on the GameFi space for both developers and gamers. We are thrilled to support this project which will massively accelerate interoperability between Web3 games.
– Ishan Negi, Operations Manager at Polygon Studios
