Craig Wright, the self-proclaimed inventor of Bitcoin, has won a U.S. Appeals Court case regarding billions of dollars in disputed cryptocurrency. Wright claimed he wasn’t in a legal partnership with the late David Kleiman when they apparently mined bitcoin together over a decade ago. The Kleiman estate claimed a right to half of the mined bitcoin. Wright has also sued a group of crypto developers in the U.K. and was previously ordered to pay $100 million to a company founded by Kleiman. In a 2022 ruling, Norwegian judge Helen Engebrigtsen called Wright a “fraud” and “scammer” for his claim to be Nakamoto.
