Daedalus 4.3.1 becomes the first version of this wallet to support mainnet activation of the Alonzo hard fork, which is set to bring smart contracts to Cardano (ADA).
Along with support for Alonzo’s mainnet, the new version of the wallet is ready for a firmware update for the upcoming Trezor hardware wallet. It also features some UX/UI and performance improvements.
To celebrate the crucial achievement of the largest Proof of Stake (PoS) blockchain, the IOG developers have enabled a countdown. Thus, Cardano (ADA) fans can track Alonzo’s activation progress.
Smart Contracts Coming to Cardano (ADA)
The IOG team assures that to ensure smooth and uninterrupted wallet operations, all Daedalus users must upgrade their wallets before Cardano’s Hard Fork Coordinator starts upgrading the system.
As covered by U.Today previously, the Alonzo hardfork for Cardano is expected on September 12, 2021, at approximately 9:44 PM UTC. Yesterday, Binance (BNB), the leading decentralized exchange, confirmed support for this upgrade.
Before launching its smart contracts, Cardano (ADA) was attacked by critics who poisoned the company.
