What is Automated Settlement?
Automated settlement allows you to trade via OTC’s RFQ with available balances in your Kraken account in three easy steps: request a quote, accept the quote, and confirm the trade. Go from initial quote to final payment in a few seconds.
What if I like the flexible checkout I already use?
If you already have access to flexible settlement – the ability to trade now and settle later – nothing needs to change. Our person-to-person settlement experience and global team of merchants are at your service around the clock.
How do I start using Automated Checkout?
Customers must first be onboarded to RFQ. Our OTC desk traders will work with you to assess your trading needs and determine appropriate settlement eligibility. Customers eligible for flexible settlement can simply select either settlement option on the OTC portal before submitting a quote.
Automated settlement = instant settlement for customers who want an exact, finalized, up-to-the-second snapshot of their trading status.

Our self-service RFQ allows you to generate your own instant trade quote for $100,000+ of any eligible crypto-asset up to a maximum of $1M (which can be increased on a case-by-case basis). New RFQ features include:
- Stable Coin Trading: USDT/USD, USDT/EUR, USDC/USDT, USDC/USD, USDC/EUR
- Quotes available by lot size or trade amount in base currency
- “Max Trade Size” and “Max Amount” per asset displayed in UI
- Indicative pricing for OTC customers without RFQ access
There is a maximum number of coins that can be purchased by trade. This maximum may vary and the current limits are always available in the OTC Portal FAQ. Although there are maximums per trade, an unlimited number of trades can be placed. Eligible assets are listed below:
